It is the sequel to the critically-acclaimed 2007 video game Portal and was announced on March 5, 2010, following a week-long alternate reality game based on new patches to the original game. Though initially slated for release in the last quarter of 2010, the game was postponed to the week of April 18, 2011.

It was released in January 2008 for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 and on February 5, 2009 for Microsoft Windows. It was also released on the PlayStation Store in September 2008 and via Xbox Live Marketplace's Games on Demand August 25, 2009. It was later added to the library of Greatest Hits titles.

The Wii version was developed by Exient Entertainment. Hot Pursuit is the 16th title in the franchise and was released in November 2010. The game was released on via digital download on 15 December 2010.

It was announced in December 2008 as part of a three-game announcement that includes Need for Speed: Nitro and Need for Speed: World. Shift was developed by Slightly Mad Studios in conjunction with EA Black Box and published for Electronic Arts.

Unlike its predecessor, Dead Space 2 has a multiplayer mode. A Collector's Edition is available for all three platforms. The PlayStation 3 Limited Edition includes Dead Space: Extraction as a PlayStation Move compatible title.

It was released on September 24, 2010 for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 consoles. The Dead Rising staff returned to create the game, including Keiji Inafune. Originally set to be released in the beginning of 2010, the game's release was pushed back and it was released on September 28, 2010 in North America. The European and Australian releases were September 24, 2010 for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, and 28 September for PC.

A Microsoft Windows version of the game was released in North America on 2 December 2008 and in Europe on 3 December 2008. It was made available on Steam on 4 January 2009. It is the sixth 3D game in the Grand Theft Auto series.
